Sorry for not responding promptly. This thread has been moved to Function 365 Skype for Business concern category, if issue persists, as per this kind error, I advise you may refer to following steps for exam:
1. Confirm if DNS records for Skype for Business service running properly without any misconfiguration (if y'all are using Office 365 Business organisation online services and issue happens to lots of users in organization).
two. Attempt a different WiFi or cellular network (to identity whether at that place's any DNS lookup fail on the mobile carrier, or traffics are blocked or timeout).
3. If Outlook app is installed on your mobile device either, and login with the aforementioned account, if it exist user-friendly, temporarily removed your account from Outlook, exit Skype for Business organization and Outlook apps, restart Outlook to re-add your account, and and so start Skype for Business organisation to run into if it works, please make sure both apps are upwards-to-date.
iv. If it be possible, endeavor another Skype for Business mobile device, this is to confirm whether issue follows with your business relationship. If event doesn't occur in another device, then issue is more related to specific client.
Besides, to meliorate help you lot, may I know your account type? Is it on-premises account, or Office 365 Business pure online account? Yous may also share a full screenshot of warnings with the states hither for checking.

Hi Anna,
Turns out we're fully online; my IT director says that his previous research on this says that this error msg from Skype for Business Android is quite mutual and seems to be meaningless. He and I only exchanged SMS msgs via my Android device, and email certainly flows just fine.
The telephone is connected to the aforementioned Wi-Fi router that my laptop is on; there are no throttles, blocks, or other than default timeouts set up; and SFB on the laptop (all of two feet away from the phone, both in same room with router) never has produced these sorts of errors.
Oh well. Chalk upwards some other one to ignore.

By further searching, you may confirm with other users in same tenant whether they encountered the aforementioned mistake when using Skype for Business telephone app. And confirm with admin if Skype for Business organisation online and Exchange online enabled mod authentication in your organization.

This worked for me on Android.
1. Go to Settings > Substitution
ii. Uncheck 'Use Skype for Business credentials'
3. Enter your email address and password manually
4. Press OK
